Onyx Metal va essayer de vous faire découvrir, aux néophytes du metal, le dernier album du groupe GOJIRA, originaire de Bayonne. Le groupe qui a fait ses débuts en 1996, est au mieux de leur carrière avec cette sortie d’album. Gojira fait partie d’un de ces groupes de metal qui a toujours possédé sa propre identité musicale, bien que possédant des influences de Morbid Angel, Metallica, Tool, Meshuggah, Neurosis ou Death.

Si vous débutez dans le metal, vous allez vite vous apercevoir que l’ensemble des 12 compos de l’album, bien qu’orienté death/metal, sont axés sur la rythmique de l’excellent batteur, Mario Duplantier. En effet, il arrive à dépoter parfois sa batterie à la vitesse d’une véritable mitrailleuse: c’est qu’il en a dans les bras !!! Accompagné par Christian Andreu à la guitare et de Jean Michel à la basse, Joseph Duplantier nous prodigue un chant « d’outre-tombe ». Ce qui est logique pour du death/metal me direz-vous ! Mais néanmoins Joseph nous laisse quelque peu planer de par son timbre de voix… Il faut avouer que l’album est très mélodieux dans sa généralité. Il se laisse très agréablement écouter, tout en restant un excellent metal bien musclé, de quoi mettre en délire une salle de concert.
Ce band a fait une tournée internationale en 2007 et 2008. Et pour les bienheureux fans que nous sommes ils vont entamer une tournée 2009 des plus françaises avec des villes comme Limoges, Grenoble, Poitiers, Paris, Tourcoing, Rennes, Bordeaux, Monaco, Strasbourg… Retrouvez tous les dates et salles de concert sur leur MySpace pour ceux et celles qui ont envie d’aller les découvrir voire les redécouvrir.
Mais revenons un peu à cet album, « The Way of all Flesh ». Et notamment sur l’excellente présentation de ce CD. Je ne sais pas qui a eu cette merveilleuse idée de celui-ci, mais nous ne pouvons que le féliciter. Car personnellement Onyx Metal tient à le remercier pour ce format livret incluant la galette. Il n’a pas été inintéressant de faire cet effort de « lookage ».
Donc encore un album à acheter et à ne pas manquer surtout, car un pareil petit chef d’oeuvre de réussite, franchement, cela serait dommage de le rater.
Quant à nous, nous n’hésiterons pas un instant à nous déplacer sur Tourcoing afin d’assister au concert de Gojira le 14 février prochain. ONYX METAL profite de souhaiter une merveilleuse année metallisme à notre groupe à l’occasion de la nouvelle année 2009 !!!
Onyx Metal will try to make you discover, with the beginning of metal, the last album of the group GOJIRA, group originating in Bayonne. The group which made its beginnings in 1996, is as well as possible of their career with this exit of album. Gojira belongs to one of these groups of metal which always had its own musical identity, although having influences of Morbid Angel, Metallica, Tool, Meshuggah, Neurosis or Death.
If you begin in metal, you quickly will see you that all 12 compos of the album, although directed death/metal, are centered on rhythmic excellent beater, Mario Duplantier. Indeed, it manages to sometimes discharge its drums at the speed of a genuine machine-gun: it is that it has some in the arms !!! Accompanied by Christian Andreu with the guitar and of Jean Michel to low, Joseph Duplantier lavishes a song to us “of in addition to-fall”. What is logical for death/metal you will say to me! But nevertheless Joseph lets to us somewhat plane from his stamp of voice… It is necessary to acknowledge that the album is very melodious in its general information. It is very agreeably let listen, while remaining an excellent quite muscular metal, what to put in is delirious a concert hall.
This band made an international round in 2007 and 2008. And for the happy fans who we are they will start a round 2009 of French with cities like Limoges, Grenoble, Poitiers, Paris, Tourcoing (where we will attend their concert to Large the Mix), Rennes, Bordeaux, Monaco, Strasbourg… Find all the dates and concert halls on their MySpace for those and those which want to go to even discover or to discover new.
But let us return a little to this album, “The Way off all Flesh”. And in particular on the excellent presentation of this CD. I do not know who had this marvellous idea of this one, but we can only congratulate it. Because personally Onyx Metal makes a point of thanking it for this format booklet including wafer. It was not uninteresting to make this effort of looking.
Thus still an album to be bought and not to especially miss, because similar a small chief of work of success, frankly, that would be damage to miss it.
As for us, we will not hesitate a moment to move us over Tourcoing in order to attend the concert of Gojira on February 14 next. ONYX METAL profits to wish a marvellous year metallism with our group at the time of the New Year’s Day 2009 !!!
