ONYX METAL s’est rendu ce dimanche 1er mars 2009 dans la ville de Fismes, petite bourgade bien sympathique de la Champagne-Ardenne, où s’est déroulée la 12me Convention d’Underground Investigation. Bien que cela soit la première fois que nous assistions à ce festival, c’était donc la douzième année  de cette représentation de metal. Et nous pouvons annoncé que cela a été fort réussi et bien organisé. Un petit clin d’oeil à Sylvain et ses complices qui savent mener tambour battant ce beau rassemblement, où le public avait répondu présent cette année plus que de coutume d’après les propos retenus dans l’assemblée.

Dix groupes ont composé ce festival de metal aux styles variés:

• LORD
• CRACKMIND

Le premier band à ouvrir les hostilités fut donc Rizzer, venu de Champagne-Ardenne à rythmique metalcore. Il est composé de quatre membres: Hamid (guitare et chant),  Raski (batterie), Toto (basse) et Tommy (guitare). On peut dire que c’est un groupe assez atypique et qui aime vous surprendre…

Le second passage fut réservé à ARES, excellent groupe de heavy/metal, composé de Damien (chant), Fred (guitare),  Stéphane (guitare), le délirant Daniel (basse) et Franck (batterie).  Ce groupe nous avait une excellente prestation à Laigneville et nous ont remis le couvert en ce dimanche. Il est bon de savoir qu’ils se produiront en première partie de Zouille/Hantson le 18 avril prochain à Cergy-Pontoise. Alors un conseil, si vous passez par là n’hésitez pas un instant à aller voir ce concert heavy- metallisme.

CRYPTIC WHISPER, groupe de death/metal,  emboita le pas en troisième partie. Originaire de Reims, ils nous ont joué une rythmique très mélodique qui sort de l’ordinaire pour du death/black: ce n’est pas inappréciable car agréable à écouter.

Ensuite vint le tour à STONE WIDOW, originaire de Reims également. Ce groupe composé de quatre membres nous a joué un metal à consonnance southern-rock. Ce jeune band créé en 2007, après avoir écumé les salles régionales, a sorti un mini-album de six titres en 2008.

HYSTHERESY, venu tout droit de la ville de Troyes, et composé de Ced (guitare et voix), Pierrot (guitare et voix d’accompagnement), Cod (basse) et Yann (batterie), nous a prodigué un death/metal à la fois dynamique et mélodieux. Cela nous a agréablement surpris. Ils ont dernièrement sorti une galette de huit titres et ont signé fin 2008 chez le label « Great Dane Records ».

Produit par Emanes Metal Record, RESISTANCE nous a épaté de par son bon trash/metal. Il faut avouer que le chanteur et leader du groupe, Nathaniel, possède une certaine prestance sur scène et aime à communiquer et impliquer le public: il se plait à délirer en lançant quelques boutades. Ce groupe fut créé à Strasbourg en 1988. L’année 2009 est celle de la composition d’un deuxième album, inspiré par le roman tordu « The Monk » de Lewis.  Avant mai un split EP avec HIRAX doit être libéré d’une co-production entre EMANES METAL RECORDS / UNDER SIEGE RECORDS / METAL FORCES FESTIVAL (Lörrach).

ABSURDITY, groupe de Strasbourg, possède une rythmique electronique death/metal: gros son lourd avec double-pédale de batterie à profusion… attention les oreilles !!!  Composé d’Olivier au chant,  Erik à la guitare, Cedric à la guitare, David à la basse et de Pack à la batterie, ABSURDITY avait  sorti en 2003 leur première démo « DECLINE OF THE HUMAN CONDITION » et malgré bien des changements de Line-up, le groupe s’est déjà produit lors de nombreux concerts partout en France et en Europe, notamment aux côtés de GOJIRA…

Afin de calmer les amplis, SYRENS CALL suivit dans la foulée avec un rock gothique ayant pour chanteuse Soraya. Elle possède une belle voix limpide qui culmine un rock électronique, accompagnée par cinq zycos. Malgré que leur rythmique est orientée rock traditionnel, les guitaristes Stéphane, Thibaut et Eric ont su se donner sur scène dans de bonnes postures de rockers.

Le « clou » de la soirée, excusez-nous du jeu de mot, vient du groupe LORD, groupe de black/trash, où le chanteur est méga looké couvert de cuir et de clous…  je dirais même des pointes de 120 (lol). Il était accompagné sur scène d’une guitariste, d’un bassiste et du batteur-chanteur. Ils possèdent tous des très bonnes personnalités qui siet parfaitement à leur style de metal. Le public fut conquis par cette excellente prestation.

La clôture de ce fabuleux festival revint à CRACKMIND, groupe lillois de power metal.  Nos amis Normann (au chant), Lloxan (à la guitare), Max (à la basse), Alcatraz (à la guitare) et Maitre Jack  (à la batterie) ont su calmement et divinement tourner la page sur cette 12me Convention de Fismes avec leurs différents titres metalliques. Ce groupe écume énormément les salles du Nord et sera prochainement à l’affiche du groupe Koritni où il assurera leur première partie de concert à Lille, au Splendid.

ONYX METAL tient encore une fois à remercier les organisateurs de ce festival ainsi que tous les groupes qui ont fait de ce simple dimanche un jour metalliquement festif.

Nous tenons à rappeler qu’il est quasiment impossible d’écrire un article afin de narrer une durée de près de 8 heures de concerts. Nous avons essayé de privilégier tous les groupes afin d’en faire leur promotion. Certains de vos navigateurs web retransmettre peut-être mal la mise en page. Merci de ne pas nous en tenir rigueur.

ONYX METAL visited on Sunday 1st March 2009 in the city of Fismes, nice little village of Champagne-Ardenne, which took place the 12th Convention Underground Investigation. Although this is the first time we saw this festival, so this was the twelfth year of this representation of metal. And we announced that it has been very successful and well organized. A small wink to Sylvain and his accomplices who carry this beautiful drum beating assembly, where the public had responded this year more than usual after the words used in the assembly.
Ten groups were composed of metal this festival in various styles:

The first band to open hostilities was therefore Rizzi, who had come from Champagne-Ardenne to rhythmic metalcore. It is composed of four members: Hamid (guitar and vocals), Rask (drums), Toto (bass) and Tommy (guitar). One can say that it is a fairly unusual and loves to surprise you….
The second passage was reserved for ARES, excellent group of heavy/metal, with Damien (vocals), Fred (guitar), Stephane (guitar), the delusional Daniel (bass) and Frank (drums). The group we had an excellent service to Laigneville and we have provided the cover on Sunday. It is good to know that they will occur in the first part of Zouille/Hantson on 18 April in Cergy-Pontoise. So a board, if you go there do not hesitate a moment to visit the heavy-metal concert.
CRYPTIC WHISPER, a group of death/metal, follow in third party. A native of Reims, we were playing a very melodic rhythm that comes out of the ordinary to the death/black: it is not pleasant as invaluable to listen.
Then came the turn STONE WIDOW, also a native of Reims. This group consists of four members has played a consonnance metal to southern rock. This young band formed in 2007, having scoured the halls regional released a mini album of six titles in 2008.
HYSTHERESY, who came straight from the city of Troyes, and composed of Ced (guitar and vocals), Pierrot (vocals and guitar accompaniment), Cod (bass) and Yann (drums), has provided a death/metal to both dynamic and melodic. We were pleasantly surprised. They recently released a cake of eight and signed in late 2008 the label « Great Dane Records.
Produced by Metal Emane Record, RESISTANCE us amazed by his good trash/metal. I must admit that the singer and leader of the group, Nathaniel, has a certain presence on stage and likes to communicate and involve the public: it likes to delirious launching some joke. This group was created in Strasbourg in 1988. The year 2009 is the composition of a second album inspired by the twisted novel « The Monk » Lewis. Prior to May with a split EP released HIRAX should be a co-production between COME METAL RECORDS / UNDER SIEGE RECORDS / METAL FORCES FESTIVAL (Lörrach).
Absurdity, Strasbourg group, has a rhythmic electronics death/metal: heavy with its large double-pedal drums profusely… watch the ears! Composed by Olivier on vocals, Erik on guitar, Cedric on guitar, David on bass and the battery pack, Absurdity in 2003 had released their first demo « DECLINE OF THE HUMAN CONDITION » and despite many changes of Line -up, the group has performed at numerous concerts throughout France and Europe, especially alongside Gojira…
To calm the amps, SYREN CALL followed in the wake with a gothic rock with the singer Soraya. It has a beautiful clear voice which culminates electronic rock, accompanied by five musicians. Despite their rock-oriented rhythm is traditional guitarists Stéphane, Thibaut and Eric were able to give on stage in good postures rockers.
The highlight of the evening, sorry the pun comes from the LORD group, group of black/trash, where the singer is mega overcast look of leather and nails … I would say points size 120 (lol) . He was accompanied on stage with a guitarist, a bassist and drummer-singer. They all have very good personalities who SIET perfectly to their style of metal. The audience was captivated by this excellent service.
The closing of this fabulous festival returned to CRACKMIND group of Lille of power metal. Our friends Normann (vocals), Lloxan (on guitar), Max (on bass), Alcatraz (on guitar) and Maitre Max (drums) have quietly and divinely turn the page on this 12th Convention Fismes with their various titles metalliques. This group scum énormément rooms North and will be on show at the group where it will Kortini their first concert in Lille, in the Splendid.
