Samedi 6 février 2009 – Nous nous dirigeons vers un lieu nommé « La Bodéga » (France - Rue Royale à Calais)… Au loin, dans la nuit ténébreuse, le froid et le blizard, des lumières commencent à poindre… Nous arrivons… Un groupe de manants tatoués fument une cibiche à la porte de l’auberge… On croise trois saltimbanques nommés Pat, Xav et Vince… Des salutations et chapeau bas s’échangent de part et d’autre… On entre ensuite dans cette guingote… Wahouuuuuuuuuu !!! La retransmission d’un match de foot sur grand écran (lol). Bon, allez, on arrête ces palabres pour entrer dans le vif du sujet: COD69 dans toute sa splendeur.
Ce soir est un grand soir: ils ont envie de tout donner. Dès la première song jetée en pature au nombreux public présent, on sent tout de suite que cela va être très dynamique: de la vraie dynamite, devrais-je dire !!! Nos trois compères se donnent très physiquement sur leurs instruments: cela dépote sec. Pat parait complètement déchainé ce soir: déhanchement et stature de metalleux. Xav a dû bouffer du lion: il ne tient pas en place en nous faisant de bons riffs de gratte. Vince: the elected official of god of the marvellous drummers. QUE DU BONHEUR !
Ils ont une patate d’enfer d’entrée de jeu qui ravie tous les rockeurs du soir. Pardon Mesdames, nous vous avons oubliées. Et oui, « The Official Team Girls of COD69″ était bien présent pour jeter leur dévolu sur ces trois « petits » gars qui nous font un bon rock de derrière les fagots: un rock orienté trash/metal, avec un chanteur (Xav) qui possède la texture de voix idéale pour le groupe, accompagné par notre bassiste, Pat. Nous voyons sur cette photo une superbe démonstration de guitare dédiée « to the Official Team Girl ». J’en connais une qui était aux anges: bizoux Chris.
Ce soir est un soir pas comme les autres. En effet, COD69 a tenu à faire un vibrant hommage à l’un de leurs potes disparu. Ils ont donc dédicacé « SUNDAY CRYS » à leur regretté Ami.
COD69 s’est déchainé sur un récital de treize songs de bases. Ils se sont tellement pas déchainés que Xav a fini par nous péter une corde. Et là d’un seul coup, d’un seul, le magicien de la batterie, Vince, a su nous faire habilement patienter par un superbe solo de batterie comme je les aime. Un solo des plus divins, en quelque sorte un solo « a capella » et ça s’est beau, une pure merveille.
Mais qu’est-ce que treize titres (dont vous trouverez la set-list ci-dessous): c’est cinq songs à découvrir en sus comparativement à l’excellent concert à la M.P.T, me direz-vous ! Et bien qu’à cela ne tienne: au diable l’avarisme. COD69 nous a balancé dans la tronche, pour le plaisir et l’euphorie de toutes et de tous, quatre titres supplémentaires en fin de prestation. Grandiose: 1H30 de concert dans sa totalité, que du bonheur… D’où l’origine du titre de cette chronique « Pas de bol pour les absents ».
Et nous espérons tous retrouver COD69 sur une prochaine sortie, sur une bonne et grande scène dans la région. Et nous tenons à noter que « La Bodéga » est un endroit assez sympa pour se produire en café-concert.

Saturday 6 February 2009 – We head to a place called « La Bodega » (France – Rue Royale, Calais) … In the distance, in the dark night, cold and wind, lights begin to emerge… We get a group… tattooed men of bad life cigarette a smoke at the door of the pub… It crosses three musicians named Pat, and Vince Xav… greetings are exchanged and a hat low on both sides… It then enters the cant… Wahouuuuuuuuuu! ! The broadcasting of a football match on the big screen (lol). Well, come on, we stop these talks to enter the heart of the matter: COD69 in all its splendor.
Tonight is a great evening: they want to give everything. From the first song pier up to the large audience present, we feel immediately that it will be very dynamic: the real dynamite, I should say! Our three companions give very physically on their instruments: this dépote sec. Pat seems completely surexity tonight: swayed of musician metal and stature. Xav had to eat the lion, it does not place us in good riffs from scratch. Vince: the elected official of the marvelous god of drummers. THAT HAPPINESS !!!
They have a hot potato at the outset that all delighted rockers evening. Sorry ladies, we’ve forgotten. And yes, « The Official Girls of COD69 Team » was there to lay their heart on these three « small » guys who make us a rock from behind the faggots a trash-oriented rock / metal with a singer (Xav), which has the ideal texture of votes for the group, accompanied by our bassist, Pat. We see in this picture a superb demonstration of guitar dedicated to the Official Team Girl. I know one that was thrilled: big kisses Chris.
Tonight is a night like no other. Indeed, COD69 held to make a heartfelt tribute to one of their friends disappeared. They have dedicated « SUNDAY CRYSIS » to their late friend.
COD69 broke loose on a recital of thirteen songs of bases. They are not so wild that Xav eventually we blow a line. And then all of a sudden, one, the magician of the drums, Vince, was able to make us wait ably by a superb drum solo that I like. A solo of the divine, a sort of solo « a capella » and it was beautiful, a pure marvel.
But what thirteen titles (of which you will find the set-list below): they is five songs to be discovered in addition compared to the excellent concert with the M.P.T, will say to me you! And although with that does not hold: with the devil avarism. COD69 balanced us in the mug, for the pleasure and the euphoria of all and all, four additional titles at the end of the service. Imposing: 1:30 in concert in its totality, that happiness… From where the origin of the title of this chronicle “No the chance for the absent ones”.
And we hope for all to try COD69 on a forthcoming exit, good and large scene in the area.
