ONYX METAL vous fait découvrir l’Album du Mois de mars 2009 avec un groupe lyonnais nommé « God Damn ». Dans un premier temps, pleins feux sur leur biographie. C’est en novembre 2004 lors d’une soirée bien arrosée que God Damn voit le jour: déjà l’esprit très rock’n'roll. Ce projet nait de l’envie de cinq zicos originaires de différents groupes de se réunir pour faire de la musique entre potes et se faire plaisir avant tout. Les premières influences du groupe proviennent des U.S tel que: DOWN, CROWBAR, BLS… On retrouvera d’ailleurs tout au long de l’album cette rythmique très States.
Mais très vite, Renat (chant), Pich et Jerem (guitares), Charly (basse) et Bij (batterie) se prennent au jeu. Et God Damn devient une meute et un style de vie. Après leur première démo sortie en 2007, où God Damn a partagé la scène avec des groupes comme Alabama, Thunderpussy, Firebird, Zuul FX… notre groupe se lance durant l’été 2008 dans l’aventure du studio. Et c’est là que leur premier « bébé » nait avec une dizaine de songs d’un son très metalleux où Renat appose son organe vocal et l’empreinte de l’album également, sur chaque titre. Cela en fait l’originalité du God Damn d’ailleurs. Car les dix titres vous téléportent sur un rock assez douçâtre dans son ensemble mais néanmoins tonique, un monde où, en fermant les yeux, on pourrait se croire assis au guidon d’une superbe Harley traversant la mythique U.S. Route 69. Cela donne un certain côté serein, tout en possédant une force certaine…
« OLD DAYS » a donc été enregistré au Studio Cartellier (Rhône) et masterisé aux sources du rock chez Gary Long (Nomad Studio au Texas). Cet album vient de sortir le 21 février dernier. Passez donc visiter le MySpace de GOD DAMN afin de découvrir quelques songs des titres de la liste ci-dessous:
